1929 FAMILY BUSINESS/FAMILY LEGACY
John R. Marion started his roofing business on a handshake in 1929, and to this date, we abide by the ethics set forth and the business principles that John established, 4 generations later. Just think, said Ted Marion, “my grandfather started a roofing company during the Great Depression of 1929, in Canton, Ohio.” John needed to create income to feed, clothe and educate 10 children; 8 sons and 2 daughters. It’s obvious that all 8 of his sons had no choice in getting paper routes and cutting grass to make money. They instantly became laborers, and they were taught the roofing trade. To this day, none of us really know if his business was driven by fear for survival or the dream of being an entrepreneur. We have in our archives a roof that was put on in 1950 for $625 dollars. Even though times have dramatically changed, the roofing trade and legacy that John established, is now in its 4th generation.

What should you do if you suspect that you might have storm damage?
Should you contact your insurance company first?
What types of issues will a storm cause?
I had storm damage on my roof. I could see a few missing shingles when looking up at the roof from the ground, so I knew there was more damage that I couldn't see. I didn't want to get up there myself, so I called Ted at Statewide Exteriors. He came out out to the house and told me what had to be done to fix everything. I needed full roof replacement. He contacted my insurance company and worked out all of the details with them. When the crew came out to do the work they stayed on it until it was completely done. They kept everything on the job clean and professional. Now my new roof looks great. I would highly recommend Statewide Exteriors!
